Haytor cheese is the latest edition made by Rachel Stephens of Curworthy Cheeses who has been producing cheese for the past 25 years.  Produced locally to us here in the heart of our rolling North Devon countryside, this superb cheese uses milk from her own cows and other local dairy farmers.

Haytor is based on a Gruyere style recipe which produces this hard, open textured cheddar style cheese with a hard rustic outer rind.  It has a slightly sweet, almost nutty taste.  Delicious melted on toast.
