Morbier – interestingly different.  A great all round entertaining cheese.  Have a hunk of Morbier sitting on a big rustic board for guests to get stuck in.

MorbierMorbier is a semi-soft cows milk cheese named after the small village of Morbier in Franche-Comté.  It is clearly recognisable by its a layer of edible ash running through the middle.  This cheeses is aged for at least 60 days and develops a delicate nutty flavour

It has a thick, moist washed rind which gives it a slight fruity taste and mild pungent aroma.  It is rich, sweet and almost nutty in flavour with a creamy, springy texture.
