Montgomery Cheddar is a fabulous multi award winning unpasteurised cheddar, which has a complex, full nutty flavour.
Montgomery Cheddar is still made using the same ingredients and traditional handmade methods since it’s first production in1912. Montgomery is a superb unpasteurised cheddar and one of the best made here in the West Country. It is wrapped in muslin cloth and left to mature on wooden shelves for a minimum of 12 months.
The Montgomery Farm is one of the very few farms using unpasteurised milk which gives this cheddar its unique taste. It has a strong, full nutty flavour with a dry, brittle texture. The blue veining in this cheese which happens from time to time is perfectly natural and experts say better for it. You can taste the seasonal changes in Montgomery Cheddar.
Deliciously flavoursome and extravagant when used in cooking, grated over a rich mushroom risotto and has won worldwide acclaim as one of the best cheddars around.
